Trial Run Through of Film

We have learnt from this that filming in a car will be very difficult so we will have to look at the car first and put the camera on the dashboard so we can film the girl behind because when we filmed in  front of the car the windscreen will be in the way and will cause the quality of the picture to be worsened. The second thing we noticed was to properly are the drive look scary we will have to get a shot of his eyes looking in the rear view mirror to show the conversation between the protagonist and the antagonist. The third thing we learned is that dialogue is vital and we must rescript this so the dialogue is suitably scary. Also we need to redo the cast for the actress as she was not up to are level.

Script of film

SCRIPT

Taxi driver: (over the shoulder shot of him put a tablet in a bottle of water fizzing.)

Girl: (the girl exits the club and stands outside ordering a cab from her phone)

Taxi driver: (pulls how the ID card to make sure he has got the right girl)

(the taxi driver pulls with the window down and his elbow out the window)

                    You ordered a cab love? (smiling)

Girl: Yeah I did ( In a questioning way)

Taxi driver: Holly? Right?

Girl: Yes.

taxi driver: You going north wood park love?

Girl; yes please.

Girl: (enters the car but slightly stumbles on the curb while entering)

Taxi driver: (Locks the car discreetly)

Taxi driver: (girl is in the car) (shot of the driver looking at the girl through the rear view mirror licking his lips and his face shows temptation and joy)

Taxi driver; So did you have a good night?

Girl; yeah was good thanks. (mumbles her words as shes a bit drunk)

Taxi Driver: (Aggressively) Don't want you throwing up in my car, here's some water to make yourself feel better.  (Gives her the spiked bottle of water)

Girl: Thank you,How long will It take to get home? 

Taxi Driver: (Looks in the rear view mirror but Ignores her and carries on driving) 

Girl: (Anxiously) Are you sure you're going the right way?

Taxi driver: Id keep quiet if i was you, now sit back

Girl: Your not going the right way! Pull over now! let me out!

(fear on her face and worried, trys to open the car door to escape.)

(looks at her phone which is seen as out of charge)

Taxi driver: (looks through rear mirror) Shut up girl.

Girl:  ( trying aggressively to open the car door)

Taxi driver; Sit down, you are never getting out of here.

Girl; please just let me out, i wont tell anyone anything.

Taxi driver ; its too late your not going anywhere, your never going home.

Girl; ( faints due to the spiked water)

Taxi driver; im going to enjoy cutting you up later. ( whispers it to himself quietly. ) (he looks into the rear view mirror to check the girl has fainted)

MOMENTS LATER.....

(car pulls up in deserted area)

Taxi driver; (gets out his car and strolls to the boot)

( opens the boot and takes out the shovel)

(closes the boot,)

(walks with shovel whilst scraping it against the floor)

Location related to our sub genre

Location related to sub-genre

The location fits into the thriller sub genre of our film (psychological) as it relates to many recent films that have a relation with kidnapping and murdering for example the film 'Taken'. The first part of the film which is shot outside of the a pub which we are using as a bar where the female character has just left from a night out with friends after drinking, getting drunk and having a good time. The outside scenery of the bar (JJ MOONS) is in quite a run down area which links to the thought and lives style of the mentally effected taxi driver. This scene continues to the inside the car and the journey of the girl becoming worried and anxious while the driver is being aggressive and doesn't want to speak to her until they reach the so called destination.

In the final part of the film, the scenery is  quite a deserted piece of land which adds to the scary and haunted theme which links to the weird and sick life of the psychopathic taxi driver. Due to the location being dark and haunted it links to other thrillers that are unexpected and involve and mentally effected sick male character.

Props related to our sub-genre

Props:

Our sub genre for our thriller film is psychological and the props we will be using are, a fake taxi, poisoned water, leather gloves, shovel and a fake id card.

We will be using a fake taxi car as it gives the viewers the impression that the vulnerable girl is going into a legitimate Uber taxi, however she is not. This is a serial killer who knows what he is doing as he has done it before and uses the same technique.

In addition we will be using poisoned water to make the young lady feel a bit dosed off during the cab journey as the driver spikes the drink at the beginning so we know someone bad will happen to her if she drinks it.

We will also be using leather gloves for the taxi driver so that he leaves no finger prints behind and no traces of his identity can be found as well as a shovel to leave the scene on a cliffhanger.

Lastly we will be using a fake id card to show the the girl that the taxi driver is who he says he is however she does not know he is a criminal.

Movies such as taken,hostage and pain and gain all have similar locations in which the victim has been kidnapped which is outside in the open during the evening.

Our actress will be bringing in her ID to use in which the driver will be holding it as he's been looking at this women for a while. 

Our actor will be brining in some leather gloves which as the driver will be wearing to cover up any fingerprint he has made as well as any blood spillage.

Our driver has this old fiat in which we will be using as are Uber standard taxi. This is where most of our film will be filmed. 

Storyboard

Overall what what our storyboard shows is that I think it presents a clear shot by shot representation of our film which relates to modern day scenarios of serious taxi driving and passenger incidents. although the pictures may not be the most artistic they give a simple view of what is going to occur in each shot. As well as this the short description for each shot is simple and  clear and easy to understand.. However the story board which does present our movie, it may end in slight changes to the actual filming to make the filming easier and make the overall viewing performance better.

Feedback on our idea (EXTERNAL)

Based on the feedback we retained from students around my school (not taking media or in my class), we noticed many similarities between peoples ideas swell as some negatives for us to work with and improve on. Many people thought the idea was extremely good, especially for the amount of time we have to put it in. People thought the idea was brilliant for a thriller and it works well, as well as the last scene that end on a cliff hanger which keeps people thinking, what will happen next? After gathering this feedback, we have decided we will be showing a tablet being placed into the water, so it is obvious the drink has been spiked which is more clear for the audience as people didn't think it was a good idea just using a bottle of water, as it was unclear. People found it confusing. To conclude, we have used our feedback positively as we have listened to peoples ideas and gone ahead with using one of them.

Simon Wood: Taxi Driver

Our actor fits into thriller sub-genre; psychological because he has been diagnosed with a mental illness and he is a psychopath, who is a serial killer and enjoys the thought, sensation and the feeling of killing people in this specific way.

Actors similar in films:

Kevin Spacey - (Se7en)  The reason I have compared our actor to Kevin Spacey in Se7en is because they both both similar in the films they play. Kevin Spacey plays a serial killer in the film which demonstrates he has an obsession with killing people people and enjoys the feel and adrenaline he gets.

Arben Bajraktaraj - (Taken) He is an Albanian Criminal who is the leader of an illegal brothel and who sells young girls to other men. He was the main man who got Maggie Grace in Taken, kidnapped and sold.

Ben Kingsley - (Transsiberian) In this film Ben plays an Eastern European criminal who is a strong, dominant male.

Holly Gibbs: Victim 

This actress fits into our thriller sub-genre of psychological because she is a young vulnerable girl who gets herself caught up in a nightmare. She is unfortunate as she orders a cab and gets in a car with a psychotic man who is a serial killer, but she doesn't know this.

Maggie Grace - (Taken) I have compared my actress to Maggie Grace in the film take as he gets kidnapped and her family begin to look for her. As well as this the people that kidnap the girls are both from counties in Europe such as Albania and Moldova.

Drew Barrymore - (Scream) Our actress is similar to Drew in our film because, she is a weak, submissive young girl. This demonstrates her vulnerability as well as the contrast between our actor who is a strong, dominant male.
