Account of Editing
Account of editing:
After three long days of filing in the different locations, the next step in completing our music video was to edit the footage gathered on the camera. During our shoot days we film over 300 individual clips, some useful and some not but the most challenging thing was going through each clip and working out which ones to keep and discard which took and awful amount of time, this however made sure we had the best footage available to put into video and make it the best we could, we did however keep some clips that were similar and at the highest quality possible to compare how they fitted in with the rest of the clips either side of it. Finally we did take extra shots for our film but those parts never the cut as we realised the film would become long winded and slightly boring for the viewer. However i did include some timelapses which i shot on my Mobile device to add some effect to our project.
The first task we carried out was putting together our introduction with the song playing building up to where the lyrics commence. This involves many small and snappy shots which took a bit of time to get right. The first shot However was a bit of a hassle as it required a lot of movement and shaping due to the fact it was 3 shots in one. I used many effects Premiere pro hopping to get the best outcome.
As a group we also came to a conclusion that it was better that we made the whole video black and white which meant researching and understanding how to adjust our clips normal to black and white.
The next stage was tackling the Green-screen which was behind us in the shots filmed in the studio in school. We tried tested many background including white canvas and real life studios however we not come to a final conclusion as what will be used but this we be decided very soon. We did however put the shots that need the green screen in to place so it leaves us with little to do when it comes to final checks and run throughs.
The next process in putting our music video together was editing the time lapses. Due to me filming it a smartphone i had to editing it in a way which would make it compatible with the rest of the video which took quite a long time in finding the right position and balance.
The final part that i have completed so far is adding in some shots from the theatre and making sure that that speech lines up perfectly with the actual song so it is a timeless blend of mouthing the words and the lyrics.
Target Audience - Facebook Profile
This is an example of our target audiences Facebook profile - Tom Richards. He is clearly a big fan of rock bands which is made evident he is a target audience for our band. We are an organic and authentic new band and we believe due expressing his enjoyment in reading books based on bands like 'The Exes' as well as 'Five favours of dumb' he would love our band. As well as this, his love for similar rock bands of 'The Front Runners' Calibre. Moreover, it is shown again through the movies he has watched and enjoyed. These our 'The Rocker', 'School of Rock and also 'The runaways'. He has shown a keen interest in a wide variety of bands ranging from U2, Pink Floyd and even The Beatles.

Ideas For Album Cover
Idea for CD Cover:
This album cover of the police is a very simple but effective cover. We see the band name 'The Police' in big bold with a bright colour to catch the audiences attention in which everyone would know who the band is. Their star image of the band is authenticity and they are being sold as quite moody and real. This is something that we would like to incorporate into our band. The black background adds to the sense of realism about it as it makes it darker and infers that the music is also dark and serious.
This band 'Cream' are all wearing stereotypical 1960s outfit which is a silky silver suit, with top hats. In contrast, the black background adds to the sense of realism about it as it makes it darker and infers that the music is also dark and serious however we can see by their faces, clothes and 'jazz hands' dance moves that this is the opposite ti dark music.
In this album cover of motor head we can see how all the band members wearing the exact same outfit which is a stereotypical 1980s rock band outfit wearing all black with leather jackets and black jeans. We see the sense of rebellion in the way they are standing. This also looks like gun swingers from the West which adds to the authenticity of the band. The way that bands logo is over a 'Spade' adds that this is apart of their band logo. The fact that the name is small and the logo is big suggests that the image of the image of the band is vitally important.
From these different CD covers, I am gaining a sense of how I look like my bands album cover to look. Authenticity is essentially in creating a star image for our artists and the black backdrops represents a sense of seriousness and authenticity. I am also gaining a sense of where the band is standing in their covers as it creates a sense of cohesion within band members, this is something else I need to think about when doing my shoot for our CD cover. There are different colours and fonts which are helping us with choosing our idea.

Account Of Shoot Day 3
Account of Shoot day 3:
We decided that the next section of our music video which needed to be filmed would be filmed in one of our band members house in all different rooms as well as, in the boot of his car and on his road. This would demonstrate the band members living as normal people which adds to the authenticity of their image, so you can sell them as being more organic. The reason we believed this was because this is something the audience approve of due to the research and feedback that we gathered from out target audience. We went on the weekend in the morning so we were able to ilm outside in the bright light.
The first thing we did as a group was bring all the instruments into the garage and work out what we were filming first and when. Once everyone was set up and ready to go we first filmed in the boot of the car. We did this just to show the audience that artists are still practising and they are close as a group on the weekend and in their spare time they rehearse no matter where they are. After this, we went in side and filmed all of Katie's shot and every shot with her involved as she needed to leave due to having a busy schedule. These shots included getting out of bed with her boy friend (Sam our lead singer) and her getting ready for her day ahead. Once Katie left, we had to film all the other shots so we could finish our filming and begin our editing of the video. We filmed a variety of different shots, close ups, wide shots, medium close ups, over the shoulder and tracking shots. Furthermore, we filmed and got a really good variety of shots including our band members, getting ready for their day and getting dressed and also playing FIFA together representing they are normal boys hanging out. Finally, we filmed Sam walking down the road singing to add an effect.
My contribution to the group was very important. Although, I am not a member of the band I filmed every shot and it was my idea to come up with the all the shots on and how they were filmed. I also came up with the idea of our lead singer walking down the street which looked extremely effective and original. Moreover, I made most decisions on which shots to do at a time, whether it was a wide shot of the whole band or close ups of each individual band member getting ready for their day ahead.
Filming these shots on this day was not a problem at all. This was because, we all worked together as a team incredibly well in which made it a smoother, quicker and easier experience for us as a group. On top of working as a team, we used are experience from last year to use the camera to its full use as well as exploring different camera shots. We decided to go through the entire song from many different angles and a variety of shots over and over again. We thoughts this would be very useful and effective so when it comes to editing our music video we have many different shots from different angles and sections from the song which will enable us to choose the best shots which fit the lyrics or which suits our style.

Development Of Our Narrative
Changes of our narrative:
After watching our animatic and getting feedback from pupils in my class and around the school we felt as it was not clear as to what we were filming and the narrative made people a bit unclear. Therefore, we had changed our filming to make it more clear and to focus on the narrative of making it about a group of friends who have started in a band who are working hard but aren't taking life to seriously as they know its short and don't want to take it for granted.

Feedback From Music Video
Feedback from music video so far:
We have began editing our music video by firstly adding the song in the background and gather some shots we had and put them in place. We, added the close up shot of the spotlight on our lead singer for the opening lyrics, the shot of our singer in the studio rehearsing and the shots of them playing wide as a band. After going round the school, we showed gathered a video of feedback from pupils as we wanted to know what has gone well so far and maybe what we could change it or anything that would need improving.
From looking at the video most people thought that the lip singing wad perfectly in time and looked realistic. We knew our lip syncing would be accurate as we made sure our singer was in time with the song from the beginning. Some people really liked the black and white effect of our music video and found it very cool and effective. Moreover, people also liked the close up of the guitarist hand movements as we see him playing it in tune with a solo part in the song which is incredibly effective.
On the other hand, most people decided that our drummer and the editing of the drumming scenes were't as effective. Some people felt as if she wasn't actually playing the guitar and that her hand movements weren't in time with the song. After coming together as a group we looked over these parts and decided we would try and speed up her playing the drums which would make it more realistic and for in time. Finally, we also felt as it would be effective if we would add a pause which we used a black screen for to add effect just before we hear the drums crash which is just during the chorus.
