Account Of Editing 2 (New Music Video)

Account Of Editing 2:

1. The main chorus build up consisted of the drummer however we didn't have shot of him drumming so I decided to two use the same shot twice re running it so it was in time with the build up before the final solo to where chorus started.

2. While filming we also decided to shoot some high angle shots from the theatre balcony however we realised when editing that the band was to one side and half the stage was black so we the CROP tool to cut as much out as possible to focus on the band

3. Again for the next part all that was necessarily needed was to implement the already cut shots into position with the following.

Further to this the only thing required was to add the shots in that were missing no editing techniques were used excepted implementing them to time so the words match the mouthing of the lyrics which was implemented on Premiere Pro

Account Of Editing 1 (New Music Video)

Account Of Editing:

During our shoot days we film over 300 individual clips, some useful and some not but the most challenging thing was going through each clip and working out which ones to keep and discard which took and awful amount of time, this however made sure we had the best footage available  to put into video and make it the best we could, we did however keep some clips that were similar and at the highest quality possible to compare how they fitted in with the rest of the clips either side of it. Finally we did take extra shots for our film but those parts never the cut as we realised the film would become long winded and slightly boring for the viewer. However i did include some timelapses  which i shot on my Mobile device to add some effect to our project.

As a group we also came to a conclusion that it was better that we made the whole video black and white which meant researching and understanding how to adjust our clips normal to black and white. To make the shot black and white throughout the editing process, we used the effect Tint which took away the colour from every clip.
on the simple cutting or speeding up process was used and little special effects needed demonstrating a real organic feel

1. Go through every clip and get rid of the rubbish and keep all the good parts we could use as clips

2. Find footage of girls queuing up to see a band but a band less well known at a small venue

3. While the instrumental introduction went on we decided to cut between the band setting up through a time-lapse and clips of the girls queuing

4. We then tackled the start which was lining up the close shot with the lyrics making sure they were perfectly time

5. The next task to complete was just adding in the shot we had already cut up to the chorus part which was madd up of many quick cuts from different angles to give a different perspective and keep the video interesting

Website Feedback

When we first set out our website and started to add features in we got some feedback from other pupils and our target audience to see what they thought of it so far.
From the feedback we received people felt it was easy to use, and go to different tabs on the website which is a positive thing. However, we knew we needed to make improvements as it wasn't complete. The majority of people said it lacked pictures and that we should add a picture gallery, and more merchandise and colour on to the website in which we did so after receiving this feedback.

Comparing our Website to others

Layout:

On our website, we have 7 tabs: HOME, BIO, PHOTO GALLERY, MEDIA, TOUR DATES, CONTACT, MERCH. Whereas 'The Queens Of Stone Age' website they have near enough most of these tabs on their homepage. However, the have little icons of different social media accounts in which if you click on them you get sent to their page on that social media platform. They also have another tab called 'Store'. This is where, they sell their own music as well as merchandise and accessories. On our homepage we have a picture of our band and the name of the band.

Positioning

On the first page, we wanted a picture of our band that will stand out to anyone that will click on the website. Therefore, we decided to use a black and white image against a dark grey/black background This was also to express the bands start image as an authentic and real band. This was done through using a dark shade as the background and having the band in the clothing they were for their gigs as this represents them being a live authentic band. We chose an image of them all together showing they are close and friends but also serious with what they do and how they want to pursue their careers staring at the viewer which again gives a personal feel to the website. For a new band this is necessary as they have to expand their target audience. This is completely different layout to the 'Arctic Monkeys' as on their home page they don't have any pictures representing or demonstrating who are the members of the band. However, the Arctic monkeys are an estabished band thereofore they do not need this.

Font& Colour:

For our home page, we made the font for our title (the band name) to be in big bold font which we did. This grabs the audience and viewers attention and you will be immeditly attracted to the title in which you would see the name of the band. However, the sub-heading and the tabs at the top are all in a different font. We felt this was a rock style rather than a pop style font such as on 'The Killers' website. They are a well established band and that could be the reason why they haven't got a rock style font as they don't need to sell their star image.
The colour scheme of the website is black, white with a hint of green on some pages. The black and white give the website a classy feel as well as illustrating them as a rock band as they are dark colours. it also sows they are an authentic band as they are natural organic colours. This is similar to 'Biffy Clyro' website however they have used the same colours but the other way round. They decided to use black writing against a white background.

Album Cover

Digipack For Our Band

We chose to change the text to white as we thought that it was much easier to read and also fit our theme better as it matches with out band logo. We also included the record label logo on the CD so the audience is able to see what music company the band is represented by. To create synergy between our digipak and music video, we used still shots taken from some of our edited footage. We chose shots that we felt best reflected ideas from our album such as being organic. On the inside we chose to use a picture taken on the day of filming our music video of our band members which is aimed to represent their love for music and making music. The tint of red is done to appeal more to the public when the album is on the shelves.
